CLASSIFICATION & DEFINITIONS
Infraction | Usually a traffic or pedestrian violation, Subject to a ticket and a fine |
Misdemeanor | Minor wrongdoing usually results in less than a year in jail. |
Felony | A crime, typically one involving violence, is regarded as more serious than a misdemeanor and is usually punishable by imprisonment, fines, or permanent loss of freedoms. |
Accessory and Attempted | All persons that attempt to commit a crime or are an accessory to a crime are guilty of said crime. |
Aiding and Abetting/Accessory | All persons that assist in the commission of a crime are guilty of said crime. Reduced time and fine based on the related charge. |
Class A Weapon | Any semi-automatic handgun, shotgun, or rifle. Melee items or makeshift melee items such as, but not limited to, brass knuckles, shanks, shivs, baseball bats, golf clubs, pool cues, or broken bottles. |
Class B Weapon | Any fully automatic or modified weapon. |
Class C Weapon | Any weapon that is exclusively issued and accessible in LSPD armories by/to LSPD or state employees. |
Class D Weapon | Any destructive or explosive device, improvised or not, or any military-grade weapon. |
Controlled Substance | Cocaine, Ecstasy, Marijuana, Methamphetamine, Vicodin, Oxy, Adderall, Shrooms, Lean, Xanax, Opium. |
Government-Issued | Any property issued to a public servant. |
Public Official | A person who is appointed, nominated, or elected into a position in the government. |
Public Servant | A person who works for the Government |
Peace Officer | Police Officers, Sheriffs, Troopers, Rangers, Wardens, Correctional Officers, K9 units, and Fire and EMS Personnel. |
